a gloomy rainy afternoon. a pile of leaves in the parking lot.
most people walk on by, rushing to get indoors. to be dry and warm.
they walk right through the pile of wet leaves.
making a disgusted face as they stick to thier shoes.
scrape them off with annoyance.
not me.

I stand in the rain, despite the fact that I am underdressed
and my hair is getting frizzier by the second.
kneeling on the ground. wet knees, wet palms.
camera in hand. ignoring the stares.
they can't see what I see.
right there, on the other side of the lens.
beauty in the unexpected.
