transitions

just like summer, the peaches have come and gone. school starts tomorrow and that means fall is officially here.

the heat wave finally broke. the AC has been off all weekend. we've been sleeping with the windows open and it's glorious. I love waking up in the middle of the night and reaching for an extra blanket, then curling into the warmth.

and the daytime weather has been just gorgeous. low humidity, lots of sun, a nice breeze thanks to remnants of Hurricane Earl. I read by the pool today for my last attempt at a tan. ok, I have a tan. just not as much this summer as the usual.

but I'm ready for fall: a return to the routine. crisp air and crunching leaves. football season. lots of baking. sweatshirts and jeans. scarves and boots. warm mugs.

and hopefully no snow until december!
